BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

Has been in ophthalmological practice since 1974.

Dr. Ellis' textbook, "Radial Keratotomy and Astigmatism Surgery" has gone through three editions since first published in 1985 and the latest edition, "Keratotomy Surgery for Myopia, Hyperopia and Astigmatism," 1991 (323 pages) is used worldwide a basic medical text on this subject.

Chairperson of a one-hour symposium on the "Surgical Correction of Astigmatism" at the Twenty-Sixth International Congress of Ophthalmology, Singapore, 1990.

Founder and Director of the Berkeley California Refractive Surgery Course given from 1985 to 1994 with an average attendance of thirty or more ophthalmologists from all over the world each year.
