LASIK is a quick and relatively painless vision correction procedure with an excellent track record of success.
If you’re over 18 years of age and suffer from astigmatism, nearsightedness, or farsightedness, tired of contact lenses and glasses, and your prescription has not changed for more than a year, you may be a great candidate for laser vision correction at Ellis Eye and Laser Medical Center.
LASIK Laser vision correction
LASIK or Laser in-situ keratomileusis is the most frequently performed refractive surgery procedure used today to reduce or eliminate the use of glasses or contact lenses. LASIK surgery provides results that are quick and long-lasting. The procedure can be used for both nearsighted and farsighted patients.
No-Touch PRK Laser Eye Surgery
PRK (Photorefractive keratectomy) is different than LASIK because no corneal flap is created during the PRK procedure. Instead, the central portion of the thin outer layer of the cornea is removed from the eye. The excimer laser is then used on the surface of the cornea to reshape it.
The Bausch & Lomb Technolas ® Zyoptix™- The Technolas 217 Excimer laser is the top quality laser for Ellis Eye professionals to offer the best in laser vision correction.
Orbscan®IIz Corneal Topographer – This cutting edge piece of technology is utilized to map your eye to allow our specialists to make precise decisions when it comes to your vision.
AMADEUS™ II Microkeratome- The "three-in-one Microkeratome” for traditional Lasik, Epi-Lasik and anterior and posterior Lamellar Keratoplasty.
NIDEK's Excimer Laser EC-5000CX Series- This is also an Excimer laser and is designed to reshape the cornea for PRK/LASIK to reduce or eliminate myopia/hyperopia with or without astigmatism, and PTK
ZyWave Aberrometer- This is a diagnostic tool to better screen patients at Ellis Eye Center to ensure the best treatment possible.
